Two weeks prior to her
divorce, Lauren Miller was diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer: Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. All at once, the mother of three children, second-degree black belt, fitness trainer, motivational speaker, and teacher was losing her marriage and possibly her life.In Hearing His Whisper, Lauren records her personal conversations with Jesus before, during, and after her divorce and cancer experience. Hearing His Whisper is a portal into the un-manifested spiritual dimension that ultimately leads one to internal freedom, inner strength and self-love, and acceptance through and with the source of love itself.
Don’t cry Mom, your soul still has hair..long beautiful hair, “my ten year old son said as he ran his little hands over my balding head.”
“Thank you God, for another day of life to learn how to love better.”
“I forgot who I was, and therefore, I farmed out the power to define me to the world around me.”
“Our beauty flows from a source that is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.”
“ Hearing His Whisper is a great read! A well-written, very inspirational book…” Dr. Paul Seligman, Professor of Medicine, University of Colorado
“Lauren pulls back the hospital room curtain and invites us into her intimate conversations with God…” Jack Crabtree, Executive Director, Long Island Youth for Christ

One of my friends dropped off Lauren’s book two weeks ago….It was a true blessing from heaven. I had just been diagnosed with the same type of breast cancer . I could not put the book down. It was exactly what I needed. I read and I cried and then I read some more and cried even more. It validated all the feelings and fears I had been experiencing. Her candid words on her fear of loosing her hair and her breasts…were exactly what I had been experiencing. Her faith is an inspiration to me as I begin my journey. Thank you Lauren for Listening to God’s whispers and letting us share in your journey. It has given me strength.May God bless you abundantly. Molly C
Lauren is an inspiration to all with her boundless faith. Her book is life transforming as it helps to explain God’s profound truths. Life is all about love; being loved and giving love. Lauren’s book also teaches us how to develop an intimate relationship Jesus. It is a testimony to life, love, faith and hope. I highly recommend her book to anyone seeking to discern God’s will!
Lauren Miller is “must” read for any Christian facing tragedy. Be ready to acknowledge the love and power of God. Her acuity grows day by day, event despite reverses. There is real bravery in this work.
In my first read of “Hearing His Whisper”, I focused on Lauren’s inspiring story and how she moved from fear to love. I can’t imagine how she would have faced so many challenges without her strong faith. I am now rereading the book at a much slower pace, focusing on the spiritual messages. It amazes me that the messages Lauren received are the same as those in the Course in Miracles. She did receive on a personal and practical level the teachings brought to us through the ages. Her honesty and openness make the message accessible to not only someone going through crisis, but to each of us as we deal with those less serious challenges.
In Hearing His Whisper: A Journey through Cancer and Divorce, Lauren Miller offers her own personal experience with survival and the bounty of the spirit hidden within. Her powerful journey as a mother of young children suddenly faced with advanced breast cancer and divorce should be required reading for anyone facing adversity – men and women alike – for it is both a testament and survival guide.
Told with simple narrative beauty, Miller describes how her initial fear, anger and uncertainty ultimately led to a profoundly deeper understanding of the nature of love and the teachings of Jesus Christ, awakening in her an inner strength and peace – a beautiful oasis of the spirit.
Thank you, Lauren, for writing this beautiful book.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for … Lauren’s
“Hearing His Whisper” book … I found her story so compelling I read the entire book the first night he brought it and still find myself picking it up to remind me of her words. The journey so far has been an adventure to say the least, and based on the finding of one positive lymph node, I am having another surgery on the 10th of March to remove the remaining axillary nodes under my right arm. I am hoping all goes well and with any luck, can start my first chemotherapy treatment on the 19th, 20th or 23rd of March. For now, I am happy to be in touch again even though it is only from a “cyber-perspective”, and can hardly wait to return physically to TMA!! Once again … many, many thanks for … sharing Lauren’s story with me–it truly helped me reading the words and thoughts of someone who has already been down the road I find myself on.
I just picked up your book this morning. Barnes and Noble ordered it for me. I am only on page 32, and already I have tears in my eyes as I read your words, especially “Love is the answer to suffering” and “Suffering is a means by which the human heart is expanded in such a say that more love can enter in and therefore, more love flows out”… Thank you for your special gift of writing. Love Jean
I recently finished Laurens ‘Hearing His Whisper’ and it is an inspiring book, by an amazing woman. It is a message of faith and hope to all. No matter how big the challenge, you will believe and feel that in the end, with enough love, faith, and hope, you wil be triumphant.
I learned recently to be thankful for every day you have, each one is truly the most beautiful gift you can receive.
In addition to Laurens words and the whispers she’s shared, if I may share a couple as well -
We can’t stop the waves, but we can learn how to surf.
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
Hope does not dissapoint.
Keep up the great work Lauren, thank you.
Prayers, peace and love to all.
Lauren not only “Nurtures the Female Spirit” with this book, she nurtures God’s spirit as well. God had to have been truly smiling when this book was published. God feels us through this book as much as we feel him through Lauren’s words. This book is Lauren’s true love story with God. What a gift it must be to have such a profound connection, a connection many of us only aspire and dream to have. Lauren has a gift and its a selfless one, to assist and help others without conditions.
My life is amazingly blessed by this book and Lauren’s wisdom.

I bought your book from Amazon.com and read it this weekend. I struggled at first because it seemed elusive to have a conversation with Jesus. Would he be so available, direct, and accepting? Maybe to you, but to me? As I read on I was enthralled with the communication and the universality of your dialogue with Jesus. He began to speak to me. What a great book! After reading Hearing His Whisper (some parts two or three times!), I felt a peace surround me I have never felt reading any book. The dialogue you created with Jesus and his responses opened the door to my own faith and beliefs. It seemed a paradox that a book about brokenness would give me a feeling of wholesomeness.

Hi there. I just wished to inform you that some elements of your website are difficult to read for me, as I’m color blind. I am afflicted by deuteranopia, but there are other forms of color blindness that will also have difficulties. I will understand the largest part of the site OK, and the elements I have issues with I can comprehend by employing a special browser. However, it’d be cool if you could consider we color-blind folk whilst undertaking your next web page revamp. Thanks.
Peace to you today Colin,

new dawn and all of the opportunity for growth and learning that come with it!

Nice to be stumbling up to your site again, it has been weeks for me. Well this is the article that i’ve been searching for so long. I can use this article to end my paper in the college, and it has same topic with your article. Thanks, fantastic share.
I just finished reading a thread “Atheists rally to stop day of prayer in America” and it made me think that perhaps Christians should rally to stop the day of prayer in America. Growing up I supposed that anything religious ought to bring us closer to the one true God who revealled Himself in the Bible, and in my own heart through the life offered me in Jesus Christ.
You certainly deserve a round of applause for your post and more specifically, your blog in general. Very high quality material
Hi. I wanted to drop you a quick note to express my thanks. I’ve been following your blog for a month or so and have picked up a ton of good information as well as enjoyed the way you’ve structured your site.
